This is from the past two weeks, sorry for missing last week!

  • indie(Function);‘s the 4th and 5th releases of their radio show and magazine are now available!
  • indie(Magazine); Issue #5 featured part 1 of my introduction to FlashPunk tutorial, Punk Invaders (based off of Space Invaders). Check it out and leave feedback!
  • capsid posted an interesting tutorial on trail effect on entities! Check it out if you want an extra effect in your games.
  • Need to improve your typing? Chman posted his fun little game MoonType, which is a typing game that could help you brush up on your skills.
  • Deamon released a XML level editor. It even saves and loads in it’s own format (.dle).

Thanks for Bret Hudson/bretboy129 (leader of indie(Function);) for collecting these articles for me.

Welcome FlashPunkers to the Weekly Recap!

Let me introduce the Weekly Recap as this is the first one. The weekly recap is a recapitulation of what has happened for a week on the FlashPunk Community: events, new games, and interesting stuff you may have missed. It’s published every monday (that’s what we hope) and we talk about important events which have happened the week before.

I may forgot something, so if you feel something is missing, just comment the post and I’ll try to add it.

  • XNAPunk, a port of FlashPunk to XNA, has been released! Check it out because it’s definitely awesome and really useful if you want to create some XBox, Windows Phone or PC games using XNA! (link)
  • RichardMarks is looking for betatesters on his new Android game. Are you willing to help him with the task? Then click here!
  • Do you want rotated images on your game which still look like pixelart and not blurry? Then check this cool application posted by smalldeadinsect! The application will create a spritesheet of rotated versions of your original spritemap, with a cool algorithm that keeps it like it was done by hand using the pixelart techniques! Cool!
  • indie(Function); has been announced here! According to the creator, it’s the combination of a radio show, magazine and educational books series about developing indie games. Amazing!
  • Do you want to rotate your pixelmasks? Then check this post!
  • Odin released his Black White game, based on Zachary’s tutorial with a few add-ons.
  • Chman released his MoonType game! It’s a very cool game where you have to type words to attack with missiles the evil ships which want to destroy the moon!
  • noTformaT released his Santa Find SnowMan game, which is about santa getting all the presents and avoiding the hungry wolves (I guess wolves don’t get presents for christmas :/ )
  • Deamon released his R.A.K.Z. game on FlashGameLicense. It’s still unfinished but it’s almost ready! Be sure to check it out and give him some feedback!
  • KingStory is a work in progress game made by naime and Capsid. It’s still on an alpha version, but the developers will love to hear your feedback!
  • PunkWeek has finished as well, so be sure to vote every game sent! The winners will be announced here as soon as they’re announced on the official website. Good luck to everyone, really cool games!
